I am posting to make a brief return from my hiatus.  The reasons for my recent dry-spell have been many-fold.  In addition to scholarly deadlines and much-appreciated vacation, I had my DVR die, which had some back episodes of Mythbusters I had been meaning to get to.

Not to mention the fact that I’ve been reading XKCD’s awesome “What If” blog: http://what-if.xkcd.com/.  Aside from being distracting, it has been discouraging instead of inspiring to read such good posts.  I’d love to have thought of it.
